Non-Prep Laminate Veneers
Non-Prep laminate veneers are ultra-thin porcelain layers, approximately 0.3–0.7 mm thick, bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth. These restorations provide high durability with a very low risk of fracture while preserving maximum natural tooth structure. They are designed to enhance the appearance of the anterior teeth with minimal or no tooth preparation.
Emax porcelain veneers are highly resistant to wear and breakage. They maintain their color stability over time and do not easily retain stains from tea, coffee, or tobacco use. The long-lasting whiteness achieved with porcelain veneers is permanent. Additionally, their smooth and well-polished surface reduces plaque accumulation, helping to protect gum
health.
In Which Cases Are Non-Prep Laminate Veneers Applied?
Non-Prep laminate veneers are commonly preferred in the following cases:
● Correction of broken or misshapen front teeth
● Increasing the size of small or undersized teeth
● Closing gaps between teeth (diastema)
● Aesthetic concerns due to discoloration of anterior teeth
● Reducing sensitivity caused by gum recession
● Lengthening teeth when the upper lip limits tooth visibility
● Improving overall smile aesthetics for patients dissatisfied with their smile
How Are Non-Prep Laminate Veneers Applied?
Non-Prep veneers are applied without tooth reduction or enamel etching in suitable cases. No cutting or abrasion is performed on the natural tooth surface. The decision between prep and non-prep veneers is made after a detailed clinical examination by the dentist.
Duration of Treatment
The treatment is typically completed within 1 week to 10 days in two sessions. Since the procedure requires only two appointments, patients are free to travel between visits.
First Appointment:
● Treatment planning
● Preparation of a working model
● Taking precise dental measurements
Note: In Non-Prep cases, no tooth etching or reduction is performed during the first session
— only measurements are taken.
Second Appointment:
● Presentation of the smile design
● Intraoral trial (rehearsal)
● Final bonding and simulation
Non-Prep laminate veneers offer a minimally invasive, highly aesthetic, and long-lasting solution for achieving a natural and confident smile.
